Has anyone out there ever messed with the spark plug tubes on the 3.4L (5VZ-FE)? I'd like to know if they are pressed into the head or threaded, if anyone has ever pulled them out of the head and reinstalled, etc.

My 2004 Tacoma tends to flood the #6 tube (driver's rear) with oil, even after the tube seals were replaced in conjunction with redoing the valve cover gaskets. I'm beginning to wonder if the problem tube is flooding from the bottom, as sometimes happens on older Camry engines.

    Thanks in advance,
    Bryan

They are pressed in and have small film of adhesive on them.

My old boss used to use a 4x4 against the tube and whack them down if they leaked.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Never seen them removed... but probably doable, likely will get ruined removing them. You need to use anaerobic sealant and press them in and measure as you go in.

they are NOT threaded in like the old camrys
