After owning one Tacoma I went to a car and decided I missed my truck. Then I quickly found myself a 2010 2wd tacoma to build and named her Sparkles thanks to

I've only driven on it for about 100 miles but it rides like a dream! Even drove it down a few rocky roads to test the flex and it's better than expected!

I'm going out tonight to really test the shocks out. I'll post something on here tomorrow about how it went. King is the leader in the industry for a reason, I would say they would be your most sure bet if you want unbeatable performance and durability out of the shock.

Very clean and simple. I'd like to get mine like this but rent in Southern California is too expensive :(

Update: I'll be posting pictures from this evening tomorrow but I'm so happy with the results that I must tell all tonight. In one night I put this suspension through just about every type of driving. Washboards, ruts, drifting, rock climbing, and even jumps. This suspension is amazing! I was able to pull about 75mph through a heavily washboarded riverbed with a few whoops in between and never once felt out of control or many bumps for that reason. After all of that I immediately stopped to check the shock temp. To my surprise I could grab the tube of the shock and feel only warm while the resis remained room temperature. King did a phenomenal job on this system for the tacoma. Its totally worth what I paid!

Glad I read your thread. I'm looking into resi shocks for my 09 TRD Sport I just bought. Live in a small town with many dirt roads. Anything over 20mph will about rattle your truck apart and run you the risk of blowing out shocks. The roads are terribly serviced and often times have no gravel on them at all. Like I said 20mph max,so you can try and swerve the big ones!

In your situation I would say that my set up would benefit you the most if you're looking for a shock that lasts. I took the truck through literally every possible driving situation there was and these shocks handled everything flawlessly. The Icon tubular UCA's are amazing too. I little to no bump steer even in the rough stuff, they also helped with the steering responsiveness and didn't fight me when I wanted to turn out of something that normally would cause the steering wheel to fight you.

I'll have to look into pairing up some shocks with UCA's while I'm at it. I come from a straight axle jeep so these UCA's are a little new to me but I'll learn my way around them by this summer. Excited to see what comes next for your truck!

Oh goodness, name are a tricky business, good man! I feel like every car/truck has a personality and feel to it that corresponds to the name I give it. Tough for me to suggest something - it's your truck!

..... but I'll go with Sparkles.

Can't help you in the name department, due to lack of creativity. But let's see a pic of that head unit finished up. Wanna see how it looks with whichever faceplate you covered it up with.
