So I know that a little bit of grease leaking out of these ball joints is normal just from looking at other threads on here. However, I took my truck in for an alignment today and was tracking down some new rub points I felt on the drive home. Started probing my suspension and noticed quite a bit of grease coming out of my joints. Is this amount normal?

I’m going to call the shop tomorrow to see if they filled my joints (I didn’t ask them to), because I can only guess that they got over filled somehow or that they have busted. I’m going to get back under there when it’s daylight tomorrow and look for tears, but how would both joints tear? The joints only have 5,000 miles and were filled just once when I installed them myself.

    Both joints look the same:

If they both look like that then they probably filled them till the saw fresh grease coming out

The ball joint doesn't have a tight seal, extra grease is meant to come out like that. Just clean it off.

The boot doesn't seal around the bottom, and the old grease doesn't just disappear over time. When you pump new grease in there the old stuff has to go somewhere, usually right out the bottom of the boot.

Mine look like that but not quite as bad, that looks like it was overgreased to me. I would wipe the excess off and carry on. As long as you don't see a tear in the boot anywhere you're fine

People that have SPCs with perfectly clean boots make me wonder if they've ever put any grease in the ball joints at all

Mine I think had the same issue, not sure if this is something I should get looked at or clean and move on with my day.
