Both my SPC UCA ball joints are leaking grease. I have King extended length shocks on the factory preload setting with about 10k miles on the kit with a fair about of off road use; nothing super harsh. Did I fail to realize that the SPC ball joint can’t handle the extra droop, did I get unlucky enough to get two defective ones, or is this normal?

The photos are at full droop on the drivers side from the front and from the back.

I recently had a scare with the SPC arms on my 1st gen. I even bought new boots. Come to find out, the boot replacement instructions state that excess grease will come out of the lower end of the boot.

I can scan and post the document here when I get home, if you want.

It looks normal, I’m pretty sure grease is supposed to come out from the bottom, especially when you add new grease. The old grease needs to go somewhere.
That grease does look pretty old, when’s the last time you serviced it?

Good to know. I remember when I first installed them I was a bit confused about how much grease to pump in. Typically I pump until I see it leak out, but the instructions said something about only 2 pumps and I went with that.

I haven't greased them since I installed them 10k miles ago, but I was thinking it was about time when I discovered the leak.

I think they call out greasing them every 5K. Don’t forget to use the right type of grease too. I can’t remember the type that’s called for.
Mine always have grease at the bottom. As long as the boot is not torn you should be good.

I saw it somewhere on this forum: somebody mentioned breaking out a grease gun at every OCI, so I started doing that.

Installed mine a month ago or so. Instructions say...

"Grease ball joint with NLGi #2, Grade LB with 3%-5% Molybdenum Disulfide grease. 5-10 pumps is sufficient at each lubrication."

I'd be curious to know how often people are adding more grease though...

I’ve done mine at install and 5K miles on them. I bought the stuff so I can and plan to service them every tire rotation.
