Hello, seems my boot on my SPC uca has torn and now grease everywhere. Had good experiences with my 1st gen 40k plus miles no problem but on my 3rd gen with under 10k boot has already tore up. Anyway I’ve ordered new boots will I be good to drive a couple hundred miles before the new comes in? Thanks in advance y’all.

Pump it full of grease and it will be fine
Did it get pinched/worn through on the coil?

Would you reckon a new alignment might fix the rubbing of the ubj boot? on the coils? If it is rubbing i don’t think it’s by much.

I see a Rough Country 4" or 6" kit there... Do you have the droop stops that RC provides in place on that? (maybe modified with some washers under the bump-stops or with taller bump-stops so they reach your SPC arm)? Otherwise, you might need to put limit straps on it. I don't suggest changing the alignment (I assume you're referring to moving the SPC balljoint outward) unless your camber is currently negative.

Like 4x4junkie said, the RC droop stop bolted to the frame was designed for the stock UCA and does not work with upgrade UCAs. That's why the ball joint boot is touching the coil at full droop. You'll need to add limit straps.

It is installed already with some washers just a block bolted to the bump stop but wouldn’t that just be for the uptravel? Looking like limit straps are the way to go at this point thank you

How would one determine what length limit strap I would need?

^You take a rough measurement with a tape measure, then order the limit straps closest to the length you need. One end of the limit strap attachment you weld to the frame will typically be a threaded clevis fitting, which permits fine adjustment once the strap is installed (i.e. you'd adjust the fitting until the ball joint boot just clears the coil with say, 1/8" clearance). Sounds good, thanks for your wisdom, and for the measurement from what point to point would I be measuring?

See the picture in the link? You'll be welding the mounts to the frame and LCA as a custom installation, so you have some freedom in placement.

Seems like it would be easiest to just raise that bumper up a bit (the one next to your reservoir hose, it simply unscrews). Either put a bunch of washers under it and screw it back on, or if there isn't enough thread length on it, find one that is taller.

I'm sure something on this page could work (maybe #9.9101, 9.9136, or 9.9143)

I think the 9.9143 bumper has a hole in the center which you can put your own bolt with correct thread through and bolt it to the droop stop. If the 3" height is too tall, you can always shave it down a little so your BJ boot is stopped about ½" from hitting your spring.
