its probably because most non OEM UCAs and LCAs use a sub standard Chinese made ball joint, this is the Achilles heal when using the aftermarket LCA or UCAs

6 months, 10k miles and bushings and ball joints are totally shot on mine. Getting them warrantied and probably going back to oem. Trusted mechanic says he sees these in the shop almost every week and on average go 20-30k miles before being shot. I didn’t notice it driving but up in the lift has crazy amount of play. Pretty bummed.

Are they the fancy xAxis joints that have slop? Had 50k miles on an older style with standard bushings with no issues, "upgraded" to xAxis joints and those went bad in 10k miles, and just replaced another set at ~ 15k miles... the xAxis joint at the frame developed lots of slop and could be felt as a clunk.

SPC when they first cam out with UCA for the 2nd gen Tacoma's had issue with QC on their ball joints. (Not sure if they were out -sourcing them) But they should have had those resolved. Their CS is normally great!
The new UCA's have different bushing. They have made several improvements over the years.
The new ball joints need to be greased when you install them or they will fail quickly! Make sure you use the correct grease.
The ball joints have nylon bushing in them and if not properly lubricated, or if contamination gets into the ball joint they will wear fast!
    Avoid pressure washing your SPC's.

Ya they are the xAxis. My inner tie rod is going out so I thought that’s what I was feeling. But probably a combo of the two. The marketing really had me sold but now I’ll be putting the oem back on. I was expecting these to last a long time with proper maintenance.

Yeah, ill be re-assessing the SPC arms if the inner xAxis joints go out on me again under 20k miles. I LOVE the adjustability and range of motion of the outer ball joint (and never had any issues with the outer ball joints). Now, if only i could get an OEM style bonded rubber bushing that I could press in place of the xAxis joints, best of all worlds.

I had read all the same things so figured they’d be good. I used the correct grease and did on the install so not sure if I just got a bad batch. Shocked how bad the play is on ball and bushings

I can speak to the pressure washing....my tubular arm SPCs (older style bushings) got water somehow into the sleeves and started pitting. Causes the bushings to make a racket.

I recently was given a set of spc ucas, they guy gave them to me because he had the same problem with them blowing out 2 or 3 times within a year. And I'm just wondering if it is even worth buying a rebuild kit and installing them? And if so is there a updated link for the rebuild kits that are also in stock?

    Too many to remember
Side loading the crap out of the lower arms for tire clearance is definitely NOT the right way to do it, it’s probably the worst way.

they are complete junk. I wouldn’t give those to my worst enemy. Between them and the cam hardware that company doesn’t impress me in the least.

    Stock-ish
Have Spcs with the axis joints, got the ucas used so no idea on miles. Axis joints still perfect after me putting 40k on them, on my 3rd set of balljoints. Last set went quick due to a week at Koh bouncing through the whoops lol other than that got 35k out of the first set I did.

The same shit everyone else has.
I haven’t had a single issue with these since I made the post and updated everything. Almost 50k miles on them since this.

    LOL. Ok.
