SPC upper control arm thoughts?

Was talking to my buddy about doing a 2.5-3 inch lift on my 05’ Tacoma, he pulled these out of his garage and said I could just have them since he no longer has a Tacoma. I was looking at JBA or camburg. These are called “SPC”. I can’t find a lot of reviews on them, but will they function just as well as the other brands I am looking at?

 

Great arms they will work awesome lots of adjustability. Pretty popular control arms to should be a lot on here about them.

Have and like them, I’d get some new bushings and ball joints it’ll be good a new.

 

Grease the ball joints at least. Find out how many miles he put on them.

 

He told me he had them on for about a week before he decided was going a different route, he also gave me a different set of brand new coils as well. I would hate to sell the coils but I plan on getting either fox 2.0s or the 6112 setup.

 

Id just grease the ball joint and throw them on then. Unless the bushings are dried out and stuff. They look new nice score

 

These are the older ones. The new SPC UCA doesnt have those welds in them anymore. I'd sell'em & put some money towards a new set.

SPCs and Light Racing UCAs are the same. This should make finding info easier.

I’ve had a set on my truck for the past 5 years with no issues other than replacing balljoints and bushings (because they are wear parts)

 

I like my spcs, also they have a upgrade program right now, it’s $200 out of pocket once you mail yours back. New models are much improved.

 

I don’t think there’s a noticeable difference between the new and old ones unless you’re hardcore abusing them. I had the older style on my Tacoma and the new style on my 4runner and haven’t noticed a difference between the two. OP will be fine with the older style ones.

 

Either way new design or old they still serve the same purpose....aligning the truck. I would keep what you have and save the cash for other things.

 

New ones have improved bushings that are “maintenance free” and they are forged. My old style ucas are squeaky AF only way to correct is back out the bolt and pump some grease in. I spent the $200 and upgraded to the new ones.

 

i run the older tube style. they are totally great, tube or billet, can't go wrong for most applications. i would be happy with either.

 

Mine are the OG ones and theyve been great with the new bushings and ball joints.

 

I didn’t have any of those issues. Sorry you have though.

 

They still work great, the amount of squeak from rolling over a speed bump or my driveway is excessive
