I replaced my OEM front, rear speakers and dash tweeters but I can't remember the impedence for each of them. I know the tweeters and front door speakers are wired together but I'm guessing it's in parallel. Can someone tell me what they impedences are and how the tweeter and front door speakers are connected? All of the aftermarket speakers and tweeter installed are 4 ohms. Am planning to buy an inline 4 way amplifier.

    Mahalos!

If I recall correctly I believe the impedance of what the factory head unit sees is a 2 ohm load.

The stereo is set up for 4ohm but can do 2 ohm . If your trying to run a amp to your aftermarket speakers u need to check the ohms on those speakers .So you don’t over power them or under depending on the amp output .no way of knowing if u ran 2 ohm or 4 ohm speakers . You are going to have to do your own research on that or pull the speakers.

If it is just a tweeter it uses a coupling cap so it won't matter. Easiest way to check is buy a cheap volt meter that does ohms and put the test leads across the speaker wires where they connect to the amp or radio. 99% of amps today are good at a 2 ohm load. I wouldn't even over think it. Just put the amp in. If you must know do as I said .

All of the aftermarket Kickers speakers I've installed in my Tacoma are rated at 4 ohms. The 4 channel amp I plan to purchase puts out 50 watts rms to each channel. I used the factory speaker wires If the front speakers are wired to the tweeters in parallel then the amp will see a 2 ohms or if it's in series it sill be 8 ohms. I'm thinking they are in parallel because the speakers in the front and rear as I recall has somewhat the same sensitivity and at a given volume the front sounds a louder. Maybe it's just me. The crutchfield tech that I spoke think the wiring is in parallel and said to rewire the front speaker separately from the tweeter. Wire the tweeter directly to my kenwood hu and the front and rear door speakers to the amp. I'm just cringing have to rewire as I dont want to do more work then I need too. Maybe I'll use my multimeter to determine the ohms in the front but I dont want to damage rhe speakers.

    Mahalo.

And as I said before. If you have separates meaning a mid with a separate tweeter the tweeter will have a coupling capacitor and or a crossover so it has no effect on the impedance. A cheap digital multi meter from Amazon will tell you where you are. But I wouldn't even think about it. Just hook up the amp
