The Tacoma ABS brake system requires some sort of a special computer hooked up to the truck to properly bleed the ABS system.

This was on another thread. Do you have to use a special computer to bleed ABS system only when replacing the brake master cylinder or when replacing what components?
Ive changed calipers before and never bleed using this "special computer".

You typically only need to do an automated bleed on the ABS unit when the unit itself is replaced, it's typically not required when replacing calipers or the master cylinder (unless you have the hydraulic booster/ABS unit).

Not really anything special, simply need a bi-directional scan tool that has that function.

Planning on doing a Tundra master cylinder and brake booster upgrade on my truck. I know Tundra booster is dual diaphragm but not sure if it is hydraulic booster or not. Guy in another thread i posted did this and mentioned so just wanting make sure i dont need anything special or worry about getting air into ABS system. I thought the proportioning valve might stop air from getting into system past that point.

The hydraulic booster looks like this, in Tacoma's it's exclusive to 09+ TRD OffRoad/Pro models and pre-09 models with VSC which was an uncommon option.
