    Hi everyone,
I'm considering a tune for my truck but I am concerned about the low engine speed drivability. In stock form, I can crawl along in 1st or 2nd gear as low as about 700 rpm and the truck does not buck or otherwise give me trouble. As a MT owner and someone who does go offroad from time to time, this is a good thing. The alternative is shifting to 4lo or staying on the clutch. Neither of these are preferable to just rolling at the low engine speed from time to time. Can anyone comment on how this works after the tune? Thanks for input.

No issues with YotaWerx Blackhawk. If anything it is smoother.

Been on the OTT tune for awhile now ...... ( I've tried various tunes over the years )
My MT has never run better. Low RPM's are very smooth.

This is from @JDSmith on KDMAXs manual tune. Maybe he will chime in on your question.

I got more bucking on aftermarket tunes than I did stock. They’re too aggressive, even in the lowest throttle sensitivity settings.

Definitely an improvement. - but do consider that it is subtle. - It is not like you are suddenly getting an extra 50 ftlb out of the tunes.

As it says above, the surge is toned down and this power is basically spread on the low end... ( a way to look at this...)

For real low speed crawling on grippy surfaces (or when 4wd is not needed), I rely on the 2 low mod.

2 low mod allows thr taco to manage steep terrain slow and effectively without drama.

Consider the Anderson spacer as well. It won't change any of the low speed dynamics but should give more power down low.

If you crawl that slow the above recomendation for the 2lo mod is on point.

I bought the kdmax, OTT and Blackhawk tune packs and ran them equally. I found Blackhawk is smoother throughout the powerband, less jerky on 1st gear starting out but any of them are better than stock.

It’s definitely awesome for wheeling! I went from sport to normal setting and it’s been great. Not too touchy and still has the snap when I want it. That increase in tq down low is very noticeable and very welcome! My clutch is happy about it also :D
