The connection for the BA10 is pretty simple to assemble. An Automotive/Tru-Flate (type "T") quick disconnect (1/4" not 3/8") 1/4"npt female, (2) 5/16 hose barb 1/4" npt male, 5/16 hose, and you're off to the races.

I'm pretty sure the hose for the Motive 2 qt. pressure bleeder is 5/16. The larger unit might require the 3/8 hose. On Motive's site they have 2 listings for hose. Obviously, get fittings that correspond to the size hose you're using. Just wanted to clear that up or maybe I just made it more confusing.

I'm curious as to why the universal connector won't work. I have one and it fits fine (Milton S-743).

No fight. That's not my way. I believe you misunderstood my previous post. Allow me to explain and hopefully clarify.

    Automotive/Tru-Flate (type "T") quick disconnect (1/4" not 3/8") 1/4"npt female,
This type of fitting (maybe others too) can be either 1/4" or 3/8" body, both can be 1/4"npt, in this case it would be female.

    (2) 5/16 hose barb 1/4" npt male
5/16" hose barb (for 5/16 hose for the 2 qt. Motive bleeder) and 1/4" npt male fitting. One will mate with the above quick disconnect and the other one will mate to the female fitting on the Motive hose.

    5/16 hose
The Motive 2 qt. bleeder usues 5/16" ID hose.

#0409 - hose for Motive 2 qt. bleeder, 5/16 ID
#0412 - hose for 1 gal. Motive bleeder, presumably 3/8 ID

I just discovered that the replacement hose for the Motive power bleeders is Tygon 2375, an ultra chemical resistant clear tubing that is high quality and a bit pricey but worth it. Far better than vinyl tubing or silicone tubing.

I have had speed bleeders in all of my vehicles for the last more than 10 years. Love them and never had an issue.

I have used a Motive for years mostly on Euro/vintage cars. I only used it to apply a pressure source, so I don't fill any fluid into the container. I just monitor the reservoir to keep it full and try to keep a constant but low pressure in the tank. It is way less messy and more controlled use of the Motive to me. I do need to get the adapter Crow Horse mentioned for the Toyota as the Motive chain one seems a bit iffy.

12 years old, and still a winner. 1 person job. I flush my brake system out every other year. The fluid heats up just like oil, not as hot. If it’s not clear, it needs to go

I installed Speed Bleeders last brake job. Bleeding brakes singlehandedly no problem(except having to crawl under the truck). Simple, excellent customer service.
