I have a similar question as OP, I was stuck in gridlock traffic in the afternoon, driving into the sun, and I was just following the car in front of me going 2 mph. Apparently the light turned yellow, then red, I couldnt even tell, and my friend said he say a flash behind me. If whoever reviews the photos sees there are like 20 other cars stuck in the intersection, would they dismiss it?

Well...youre the first I have heard of it working. My Dad and I both tried it out here, and got refunds back.

    The better coast
Take a picture of the area showing the no sign, and if you do get a ticket fight it. Even if there was one and it blew down, they should of had it fixed

in surprise they have there stupid mobil photo radar and the signs they use must be the smallest ones they could find. i have seen yard sale signs bigger than what they use.

plus trying to drive anywhere out there and do the speed limit is near impossible with all the damn old bastards clogging the road.

If having a sign noting "Speed Enforcement Ahead" is the law then El Mirage is not following it. Thunderbird between Grand and El Mirage Rd almost always has a mobile van and plenty of times on El Mirage near Cactus and never seen any sign.

This. Though, I do want to speed :p Actually though in all seriousness... traffic flow has been sooooo much better since they were taken down. People actually stick around 65-70mph consistent without slamming down to 35mph and nearly wrecking every 800 ft.

As for the camera, yes signs must be posted. They can use the mobile radar off the freeways still and there are still various camera's thoughout Arizona on non freeway streets that are still active. Occasionally though as mentioned, they'll set it like 20 below for calibration and it will just flash everyone, I've had it happen to me a few times when I knew I wasn't speeding. If you do get the ticket just go to court, pleed the case there was no signange and go for it.

Ignore the ticket if it shows. They MIGHT send a process server after you at your home address. They will make a couple of attempts and then give up. If they do catch you, it will cost you 25 bucks or so more. Worth the gamble I think. I got a camera ticket in the mail and ignored it..I figure if they want their money, they can follow the law and have a real live person issue it to me.

I never heard anything about it...it has been well over a year.

The camera system in the valley was a scam..and I would venture to say nearly illegal. The company who benefits the most from the cameras hyped up the stats and sold it to the state. Finally, they got smart and removed them. I have seen much fewer accidents and stupidity since they were removed. Also, I think only about 60% of tickets were ever paid. It was an epic fail on the part of the state to increase revenues..which they finally admitted was the reason for them in the first place. Anyone who honestly thinks they promoted and affected safety needs to quit drinking the bong water.

The trick with the refunded over payment here in az is they can't close the case till all money is settled.. as as soon as you see that refund check of 5 bucks just toss it out and within 180 days the check is voided but by then the ticket case is closed within that timeframe
Also each jurisdiction has different regulations per speedzone you can have a speed van/trailer in 25mph or less that's not a school zone without a sign or something like that. Some jurisdictions required 2 signs anything over 45 and anything under required 1 and some places required 2 no matter what

watch out too because when I was living in Prescott a year ago, I ignored my ticket, and got served at work. I was a server at buffalo wild wings... so of course I responded to my name.. It was on my shirt =]

If I had known they could do that I would have traded name tags with a friend.. (had a friend who did that after me and no one got him!)
