Ok now before u all get ur panties all bunched up about people street racing in school zones and mass murder i would like to address this issue. As posters in previously locked threads have grieved about is this governor/ limiter which in my truck does not let me go over 83 mph. I don't know about u guys but I think thats bs and I must think there is something I could do to bypass this thing and its not so I can go out and kill kids playing in the street ok. I would hope were all adults here and would understand my dilemma here. So that being said can anybody help me out here?

Does your truck have 5.29 gears?

It's 110mph for limiter, not 83. I wouldn't go that fast with the shit driveline angles of a 6" lift.

Your gearing is causing the short limit.

"my friend" has hit over 100 multiple times in "his" taco on wide open desert highways. 31s, standard gearing.

Are you tuned or OEM maps? You need a tune for your gear ratio. Don’t listen to the people who have no idea what theyre chirping about...

I think "someone I know with a 6 speed" maxed out somewhere around 114 if I remember correctly.

If you remove your mudflaps, you get another 20MPH. They are known to cause a standing vortex with the laminar flow coming off the front crossmember.

Sure, You could probably by-pass the limit. But you will most likely need to access the software/firmware controlling the engine, transmission, fuel and spark.

Or.....you could go back to stock configuration. Remove the gears, 6" lift......etc.

IMHO, 83 mph in your set up seems to be an accident looking for a location.

    Good Luck.

Lol its the unfortunate choice of your modifications that is limiting you, not a governor. These trucks can go at least 105....I heard.

My truck topped out at 83 mph bone stock with no mods. Just got it back from dealership and their answer was they couldn't test that issue because that would be speeding. Makes sense I guess lol. So I guess that means nobody knows how to rectify this sitch.?

83 MPH not fast enough? Why are you in such a hurry? Just leave the house earlier…
