Before I had my lift and 33’s I’d do 85-90 the whole way from Dallas to Destin FL and get 19-20mpg with a fully loaded bed

Is that with the latest TSB? If not be careful. The learning in the ECU could cause 1st and 6th to start gear finding to engage after 90 mph

How has this thread not been deleted? So if we are going to go down this rabbit hole.... Please don't ban me. Lol

Most vehicles sold in the us have speed limits set well below the maximum safe speed determined by the vehicles aerodynamics and suspension. I know my sport trac was set at 100 even. Not saying i did it. Just saying i know. My dad's truck was set at 103. Most cars with smart keys can have the speed limit varied by key. We set my dad's to 70 when his eye sight got bad. My key was factory set. The dotted limiter isn't because of anything engine related. You can run all day on that limiter and not hurt it.
Again not saying i did. Just saying i know 100%.

This guy knows what's up. I drove from Nashville to Tampa a couple times a year to see family. I rarely see any cops on 24 in TN. I see about a hundred in GA on 75. And then see maybe 2 in FL on 75. It's especially bad in South Georgia where it's just flat and there's no big cities.

Was this lifted? Because it makes a difference at those speeds.

    That's no exaggeration. At all.

Years ago on a cross country trip, I left Phoenix in late afternoon and drove I-20 through the night, stopping only to refuel..
I was pretty tired when I reached Dallas.
Just in time for morning rush hour.
I'm doing 80 plus in the right lane and people are blowing my doors off.
And the way they jump back and forth from lane to lane is just unbelievable. In heavy traffic.
    HEAVY traffic, that is.

I'm the kind of guy who, in my younger days, would do an Italian tune up now and then.
Find a straight semi-deserted stretch of road and peg the speedo on my motorcycle.

Dallas drivers scared the living crap out of me. :p
They gotta be the craziest drivers on the continent. Maybe the hemisphere.
Think Mad Max or Road Warrior crazy.

It will not last as long as the 2.7 at those speeds. The RPMs will be about the same though LOL
