I have been looking for the location of the speed sensor on my 1997 toyota tacoma 4x4 manual sr5 V6. Can anyone find a picture or describe to me where I can find it?

Not sure about a 97 but my 94 5sp had the speed sensor on the transmission. I think on the passenger side. If I remember correctly, it was held on by two bolts and has a few wires coming out of it with a wire harness connector.

The speed sensor on my 94 went bad and I replaced it with one I found at a junkyard. Super easy fix. Hope this helps.
