The speedo and odo are both not reading. I'm trying to see if it's the VSS but having trouble removing it. This is the correct part, yes? On the driver's side near the rear of the trans.

When I go to pull it out it pulls up about 3/4" and then it feels like it it catching almost like there is a wire or some part that is connected inside the trans and doesn't want to come free. I'm worried that if I force it I will break the little gear off in there or something.
Any tips? I haven't been able to find a video or much info on the replacement other than it seems like it should just pull straight out.
