    Hello out there
2005 base Tacoma automatic trans A340E. OBD has 2 codes 0500 vss A. I changed the input and output sensors to no avail, I tested the existing sensors with ohm meter and got a reading of .645 so they are not shorted. Transmission shifts fine but cruise control doesn't work and check engine light is on. Anyone have any thoughts

Do a search. The diagnostic cost to verify a faulty cluster can get expensive.
A p0500 for me was a bad instrument cluster. Dealer does not have a replacement, so you would either have to get it rebuilt or get a salvage one.
