    crap bolted and welded together....
i got popped in salem doing "75" in a 60. But my speedo said 70. I pled not guilty and wrote in stating why i thought the speed was incorrect. Due to lift and tire size. Never gotten a ticket before or anything. They still screwed me and now its on my record for 3 years. good thing my insurance didnt raise, i checked after 30 days to make sure.

They calibrate the guns, go for a clean reading too, tough to beat.

I really dont mind goin 65 (Oregon freeways), I leave early, enjoy seeing the sights, takes the stress out of driving by not worrying about passing,I watch other people go freak when they gotta pass me with just 6 cars in the area and no one bunched up.

I go out past Pendleton to my parents. You can count people passing 3 even 4 times before the 210 miles is up, soo funnny.... " WTF! its that damned red tacoma again, when did he pass us?" , I never stopped they did

whoops, think i dirgessed and threadjacked a bit.

If it's not photo radar... you're fine. From what you described, as others said.. it's probably a speed trap in which one or two cruisers aim the guns and call vehicles out to the 'pack' of squad cars to pull people over to issue citations. If you didn't get pulled over, you should be a-ok.

Also, if you were accurately doing 70 in a 55.... that's only 15mph.... not criminal in most states unless it's a construction zone. I wouldn't even begin to worry about it.

I was driving back to ABQ from Scottsdale AZ yesterday, and AZ has speed vans that stop on the side of the road... Well I 40s speed limit is 75 most of the way after Flagstaff. I saw the sign that says "photo enforcement zone" but didnt care bc i had the speed control at 75 anyways, well I saw a flash before and after i passed it... wtf??? I hope i dont get a ticket for doing 75 in a 75

15 over in ALOT of states will yield a reckless driving citation, along with your speeding citation.

15 over in SC is considered reckless

its also (by our policy) good enough reason for pursuit...if other factors dont stop it

That's the best part about Texas.... although I can actually get away with going faster in AZ... Texas has almost zero tolerance for speed from what I've seen lol....

Not that I condone speeding, but I'm not gunna be a hypocrite and lie either.

To the other reply's, in your states is a reckless citation criminal or civil? Just curious for myself. In AZ, 20mph over the limit, or above 85 is criminal.

We have a non pursuit policy, unless a violent felony is involved, or kidnapping etc. A few years ago a car that our dept was chasing tboned another car and ended up killing a few people. Chief decided it wasn't worth it to chase over traffic violations.

We arrest out of staters in Oregon for just rolling down a window and slowing down, its a "intent to stay" law.:D

Its still a traffic citation, but your insurance will rape you if convicted...and carrys heavy points on your license.

You know, I blew past most cops in Portland doing 5-10 over every day for 3 months... Usually they ended up just following me cause I was actually moving through traffic instead of sitting at a green light for an additional 30 seconds twiddling thumbs :D

Me and my Brother in law went to Payson AZ when we were stationed in San Diego (Navy days). His brother lives there. We got pulled over in a Drunk sting and couldn't walk straight , took us 10 minutes to pass we were so stiff in his little car.
    Talk about feeling stupid lol

I work for the state in another state. It sounds like they were working Lidar which has no camera associated with it. Usually they have one officer running the radar and call forward to the other units which are probably hiding down the road. If the officer didn't call for another officer to stop you I would say your very safe. By the way you have to beable to identify the driver at the time of the infraction.

yeah...like most have said i have only heard/seen of the radar vans that send a ticket and the cameras (redlight and speeding cameras) that send a tickets...

the regular cops (crown vics, impalas, expeditions, chargers, corvettes, goldwings, and Hayabusa's) usually have to pull you over..

funny thing is i have been pulled over by all of these (most of them when i was on my bike) and i have only gotten one ticket ever...and it wasnt even when i was on my bike...it was in my 71 VW bus that had a top speed of about 38 mph!!!...unfortunately i did not see the school zone sign :(

    bwaahahaha

the cop on the Hayabusa (in Dickinson, TX...look it up...its sick as hell) just started chatting to me since i was on my bike..i have gotten reallly luckey ove rthe years for how much i speed :D
