So here's where I am with the gear change. Remember the stock gear is 28 teeth. I tried a 29 tooth gear. It fit fine but the speedo went the wrong way! After I thought about it again it made sense. So I got a 27 tooth gear. The gear shaft is the same as the stock 28 I took out but the nylon gear itself is bigger. Too big in fact to install. Well now I have $40 in gears that won't work. I am going to try to cut down the 27 tooth gear to fit by putting it in a drill press and filing down the teeth.

I don't think I care about mine enough to mess with. I'm sure it'd be more worthwhile to people who have bigger discrepancy tho......let us know how it works out.
