razor blade and patience. Poked hole in the center and then cut from center to one edge, then turned blade 45 degrees to edge and just slowly scraped around the center. Came out nearly perfect.

Interesting. So when you ordered this part the picture you shared is what arrived? When you remove the four screws does it just lift off the gauges?

Yup that's how it comes in the box from Toyota. I haven't taken the factory one off yet but that appears to be the case. To get to it you just yank on the trim around the radio, then yank the trim to the left of the steering wheel then it's right there. adjust steering column all the way out and down and finagle the trim surround out and then you're there.

Think it would be possible to have glass shop make a replacement in glass?? I wonder how much it'd be

Wasn't sure where to post this. I can't tell if this is a hair/fiber, or an actual scratch on the screen. Sometimes it's visible, other times it's not. (Just under the tailgate in the graphic)IMG_8878.jpg

Pretty sure the dust from driving with the window down scratched mine

I even bought a fine chinchilla pelt and still scratched it to hell

I used Plexus and a microweave glass towel (similar to what you clean sunglass lenses with) and didn't notice any scratches. Still f u Toyota for this cheap nonsense on a $35k truck.

I know this has been recommended before, but plastic polish (Griot's, etc.) will help a lot. The polish I use is pretty fine so it hasn't totally removed all of the deeper scratches but unless you were actively searching you wouldn't see the scratches. I'm sure I could keep after it and make it even better if I wanted. It looks pretty good. A couple of us have found it much easier to remove the silver or orange trim first. So simple to remove and the access is much better.

I've been using plastic cleaner, polish and glaze, along with glass microfiber for maintenance and it's still too soft to look perfect.

There are 3 part number that qualify for our trucks but I'm not sure the differences. Parts guy sold me 83852-04f00 which looks like the exact part as stock on my trdor.

The plastic they make it from is INSANELY soft thus resulting in air friction destroying it without trying.

I haven't taken it apart yet but it looks to me to have a slight curve in it. So you couldn't just go to a glass shop and have them cuts some out of stock. Curved glass = $$$.

My impatience got the best of me last night as I tried to squeeze out the remaining water from one of the larger bubbles after I'd removed the protective film layer....scratched it up using a credit card so this stuff is still fairly soft...not microfiber will scratch it soft, but still. I had to redo it and put a new film on and decided to go ahead and install it in the truck while letting the heat do its thing.

Installed it looks just as clear as stock. There is slightly more texture but I'm betting that will settle down a bit with heat and time. I'm also betting little minor scratches will self repair.

Install notes: you do have to remove the whole cluster. There are 8 star screws on the back that have to be removed to get the cover off. Not a major task, just unclip the two harness connectors and pull out the harness clip from the cluster and you're good.

I ordered some more film so I can do my factory cluster. If it comes out well, I'll offer it up for sale.

I still haven't cleaned mine since getting the truck. It's getting pretty bad, so I may have to drive it into the shop and blow it to hell with compressed air.
