Hello all, I want to get a speedo calibration unit and was wondering what you guys have used and what is available. For initial searches I'm seeing hypertech but there has to be other ones out there, what have you guys used? I went from the stock 215/70-15's(27") to a 245/70-17(30.5")

Also I want to get a cold air intake and exhaust, I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons. I don't have delusions of grandeur thinking I can justify the price with the gas savings or anything like that, just want increased performance. Are there any other CAI's out there for the 2.7L aside from AFE and what are you guys running for a cat back or a muffler setup? I'm thinking of just getting a new muffler and ditching the huge can that probably weighs a ton. I don't want the ricer sound so I'm thinking Borla, magnaflow, flowmaster, etc. something that ads performance but isn't too loud.

I read most of the above thread, and it sounds like there is minimal to no gains to be made in terms of performance, vs the stock exhaust, when going for a cat-back replacement. The difference would be in the sound quality output. More beneficial effect would be realized in replacing the header with the mentioned aftermarket one, than the cat-back exhaust itself.

I would read that thread, to come to a personal definitive conclusion, on whether it is worth the cost, or not... I'm thinking a final-drive re-gear would come first if you've been screwing with tire/rim sizes, before you start looking at intake/exhaust mods that could take advantage of the re-gear.

Given a limited supply of greenbacks... i like the idea of a replacement exhaust like this, but it doesn't really figure in the order of financial priority as far as cost vs benefits.. IMHO

    Won't happen.

The best 'performance' increase you'll get is to go back to very close to an OE diameter wheel tire package. And you'll regain some fuel economy too, plus not have to recalibrate. win win win.

Big wheels / tires are great if you need them for the bulk of your use of the vehicle, and you are willing to compromise the other aspects they impact.

I know our vehicles come with what can be considered a cold air intake already. Removing the secondary air filter and adding an afe pro dry filter does seem to help. Also with the afe you can clean it so never have to get a new air filter.
