Hey guys, this fall my taco’s speedo and odometer started not working until the truck drives/ warms up for a while. When this happens, the digital trip doesn’t work, so it’s not getting any signal initially. After a few miles(sooner if it’s warmer out) the speedo needle will start slowly quivering, then bouncing, and then it works as normal until the truck shuts off. I have pulled the VSS out of the tcase and I thought maybe the gear was stripped on the shaft, but it is not, and is solidly attached and spins smoothly. I almost wonder if there’s an open in the sensor and it only connects once it expands when warm. Anyone else have an issue like this? If so, what did you find? Thanks!

Is this an aftermarket VSS or original? If it's a cheapy plastic Low Range or other branded aftermarket, chances are its taken a dump. If its OEM, try cleaning the connector.

This is the original OEM VSS. I’ll try cleaning the connector and see what happens. Thanks!
