I bought a new Tacoma in 07. Since day one the speedometer has been 4 mph fast compared to 3 different gps's. Two different Toyota service managers have told me they can do nothing about it. The truck has standard tires on it so that is not the problem.

Since we are in an electronic age I assumed thru the computer this could be corrected. Even my bicycle can be reprogrammed for different size tires.

It seems to me a knowlegable mechanic would know how to correct this thru the computer.

    Help

    Thanks

The ODO is accurate. Being as the speedo is takes a digital signal, and converts it to analog signal, to be used on a mechanical gauge, thats where the discrepancy comes about.
