    Hello,

The needle on my Speedometer bounces intermittently. It's bouncing more often now but I can't seem to figure an exact time it will. The Tach and other gauges work fine and read accurately. I've taken the cluster out to check the cable connection at the back of it and it is fine. The connection is also fine at the tranny. Any Ideas?? Also, How is it the tach and speedometer are run off of just one cable in the back of the housing? Thanks.

The tach isnt run by that cable, just the speedo. Are you sure it was plugged in all the way? Did you still try pushing it in more even though you thought it was in? Because when i put mine back together once it felt like it was in all the way but it wasnt

Yeah... I'm pretty sure it's in all the way... There's a consistent whine coming from it as well.. I was thinking of disconnecting the cable at the tranny and see what that did..

Try lubing the cable to see if it helps. The tach. is ran from a wire right?

possibly the speedo drive gear has a chipped or broken gear tooth...
or isn't engaging properly for some other reason.

I started noticing this too but mine seem worse than yours. Both my tach and my speedo will kinda "jump" up or down depending is in increasing or decreasing speed kinda like the seconds hand on a watch. Here are some videos/pictures of what mine does! Actually, can't seem to upload Apple video files...
