I have a 2008 4 cyl AutoTaco with the speedometer gone bad. If I get one of Ebay that has close mileage and replace it, will this be OK or is the mileage saved somewhere elase (in the car computer box) and I will have to take it to the dealer to adjust it?
    Thanks,
    Andy

The mileage is definately stored in the computer and you can't get rid of it. Since these speedometers are digital.....I'm gonna guess (but don't quote me on this) that if you buy a new one and plug it in, it should just post your mileage off the computer.

Call a dealer and ask them.....

I've actually read that the mileage is stored in the gauge cluster, but I cannot confirm that with first hand knowledge.
