My speedometer needle shaft broke. I'd consider welding it, but it would be difficult and probably disrupt the precision of its metrological function. The coil spring that brings the needle back to Zero is also tangled. I'm wondering how to go about replacing it. The junkyards and salvage yards are frequently sold out of any and all parts for this truck in the LA area. Should I buy a new aftermarket speedometer? Not sure how that works with the odometer. Any suggestions?

    OME and worth every penny.
quite a few on Ebay tho they sure want more for them than i can remember ever paying for a speedo.

Watch on 'for sale' for someone parting a first gen, I'm thinking the mechanical part of it can be several years interchange.
