Hello everyone! I created an account here just so I could as this question. So I have a 2010 Tacoma 6-speed and I pulled out the instrument cluster last night in order to change some of the bad LEDs and pretty much just make it look better, so I soldered new LEDs on to the board and they all work wonderfully (I'll post pictures when I officially finish) except I have one pretty massive problem... None of the gauges work. When I plug in the wiring harness none of them even jump up, they stay in exactly the same spot as where I left them. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them, I checked the GAUGE fuse and it isn't blown. Thank you in advance and Merry Christmas!

sounds like you messed up soldering the LED's onto the gauge cluster.

They all look like clean solders, but I mean I'm not a professional. I just finished with my last LED so I am going to clean it with iso... Would that help?

I’ve never taken apart the cluster, did you disconnect anything within the cluster?

Not on purpose if I did. I'm going to check all the fuses tomorrow and see if one might have blown. I just got the truck a couple weeks ago and the dimmer switch had been soldered into already which created a short so there's a chance it might be something to do with that.

Whether or not the solders look clean isn't the issue. If something inside the circuit board shorted out that's all that matters.

Electricity. Heat. Body oils. Dirt. Physical manipulation.

I've never seen the dash cluster board. But circuit boards can be fickle at times.

Are you sure there aren't any connectors missing?

Positive. The only thing I can think is that there might be a fuse blown somewhere. I checked the normal ones but once I put the board back in it just quit

It wasn't a fuse I went through and checked ALL of them. I'm getting a meter to see if all the wires have power going to them shortly.

Yeah I checked them both. I might go ahead and replace a couple fuses just to be sure.

I just said f*** it and bought a new instrument cluster, sent it to GA and had the correct odometer flashed on it. It was a lot less work.
