    Hey fellas, first post here…
My speedometer on my 2006 Access cab 6speed stopped working, then came back and this happened a few times. Now this morning it was bouncing around and ended up reading double the speed and adding double the mileage!! So when I’m going 90kmh (Canada) it registers 180kmh and since it’s governed to not go more than 180 I can only go 90 and it bogs back down. Should I just replace the cable? I haven’t been under it to have a look yet but I figured I’d ask here first. Thanks!!

There is no cable. That is Old school like me. It does use a sensor that is driven by a gear for the manual transmission.

The 4X4 is on the transfer case and the 4X2 is on the tail shaft.

I'd inspect the wiring and connector for corrosion, rubbed spots, or broken wires.

Good idea, start with the wiring.

    Always start with simple!
