What the??? I've been a Toyota truck dude most of my driving life. Love them. Love the dependability. Love the value retention.

I've helped my son who is in the US Army (Airborne and waiting for Ranger Training) purchase his first Tacoma. 2007 Tacoma 4 Door, 6 cylinder, TRD Sport, 6 foot bed.

Truck is great but noticed the Odometer is not recording miles!! Has not changed from 162393 for about a month. Trip meter A (for Oil Changes) and B (for MPG Calculations) are working fine. The speedometer is working and accurate.

One Tire Pressure Sensor (rear passenger side tire) is inoperative. New one ordered awaiting new tire install.

After purchase I replaced the oil, radiator fluid, automatic transmission fluid. I noticed that the previous owners had overfilled the transmission fluid. I filled according to instructions of "Until it comes out of the overfill hole".

Carfax was pulled prior to purchase and documents mileage up to 162000 miles so it's something recent.

My mind is partially blown because I don't know how Speedometer and Trip Meters can be working and Odo not?

Anyone with the same experience or ideas?

    Thanks.
    Kevin

Sorry man I can't help with the odo.
But I think I remember having to jumper something to fill tranny correctly, fwiw.
    I'll look it up tomorrow.
Thank your son for his service

Does your transmission operate properly? You might have a pinched wire coming from your speed sensor or a wire pinched behind the cluster. Check all fuses located behind the tray to the left of the steering column.

    Thanks for the pointers, everyone.

Thanks for the info Radarninja - I might have to put in another .2 Qt of transmission fluid in...I might have shorted it 2/10ths.

Keep those suggestions coming and I'll report if and when a solution is found.
