Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
Thanks for this. I'm at 133k. Did alot of reading in recent months and going to do everything I can to prevent it (sythetic oil, coolant changes, keeping rpms below 3k, seafoam, new spark plugs and watching the temps.)

But in the end old age and a flawed gasket it will probably go before 200k. Gonna keep my SWB truck running as long as I can. My only grace is knowing a real (not me) mechanic who is willing to help/teach me how to replace it when that day comes.

Yeah there’s only so much you can do unfortunately. I did all of that too, but I didn’t catch it as early as I could have. Worth the fix tho!

In the meantime, removed my bull bar, got a chrome grille and relocated my fog lights. Hope you get your Taco back soon.

Got her back yesterday afternoon! She could use a good bath and definitely some fresh paint on the hood and roof, but now she runs like new

Love it! Looks like mine but with a bull bar in the front. The black accents are always the best.

Anyone seen a second gen speedway blue with the black TRD rims? Also maybe with black bumper and grill? Have a TRD OR and can't stand the chrome

I have a TRD OR with the sport look. Color matched rear bumper and grill. Looks a billion times better.

I'm sure this is in the string somewhere, but if you have something else that you want to match, the color code is 8p1 for a perfect match. They look great though! Close is probably all you need since they'll be hidden behind the wheels.

Where did you find those stubby mudflaps? I'm so tired of mine, but I still want a little protection.
