Spicer XC Carrier Bearing

    So I recently heard about the "Spicer XC" carrier bearing from @MadTaco461.

    I wanted to see who else knows about this, and how many people have tried it? Seems to be a much more affordable, similar version of the IEDLS bearing. Made of standard rubber, other than polyurethane. My driveshaft vibrations are to a minimum with just the slightest takeoff shudder. About to just order one of these and try it out myself.

    Although I cannot remember the manufacturer of the part, I used something very similar. It was made for a Ford Bronco II. Been on there for almost two years and still going strong.

    I did some research on this as well and even found @cj13058 picture in another thread very useful, the spicer part number is 211590-1X and it would have to be mounted from the top since the drop is larger than factory

    Im going to try to stay away from the stock OEM design, try either the IEDLS, or the one in the OP. A design that wont allow all of the slop for the driveshaft to move around

    The ID on that bearing is for the 2wd, dont think it will work for 4wd, but I could be wrong.

    It seems to be identical to the IEDLS one.

    I think that the 2wd bearings will work with 4x4. But 4x4 bearings wont work with 2wd. Because of the slip joint "BEHIND" the carrier bearing with 4x4, not in "FRONT" of the bearing with 2wd. So with the 2wd the driveshaft needs to slide back and forth within the carrier bearing. With 4x4, not the case

    @Travis1209 I called a dana/spicer supplier and gave them the part number off the sticker on my driveshaft. The replacement oem bearing is 5002007, which has the same id as the IEDLS and Jegs link you posted. Just wanted to correct myself, since I did have some wrong info!

    Got the bearing in today. Tomorrow, the install. Will update. Biggest concern will be how to situate the driveline angles properly. Going to try to match the 1st and 3rd joints like this.

    I cant tell but does that CB have a sealed bearing or is it just grease that im seeing.

    Not sealed, but it does come with 1 dust cover lol. For $30 im gonna try it out

    Good luck @Travis1209! I changed mine out a week ago. Definitely need a puller to get the old cb off the driveshaft. I recommend getting a new u-joint for the center since you have to take it out to get to the cb. Change all three if you can since the whole driveshaft needs to come off anyways. I regret not getting all three lol

    I wouldnt recommend that. The slinger (dust cover) they provide is not going to fit properly on the tacoma shaft as its made for the ford.

    Ok so after a lot of time spent messing with the driveline angles, trying out the Spicer XC carrier bearing, even reinforcing the flimsy crossmember that holds the carrier bearing, i ordered a 1 piece, double cardan driveshaft from Tom Woods. Truck FINALLY drives like new again!
