Anyone ever had these nasty looking things in their home? We have lived in this house 15-years and i have never seen one until a week ago ... i had no idea what it was and about freaked when it jumped towards me. I have killed 4 of them in the last week and yesterday went to Lowe's and bought a couple sticky glue traps ... this morning there was one of these nasty ass spider crickets on it. I read where once you get one on the glue trap that it will attract others cause they eat one another?

Have you had any experience with spider crickets and if so what did you do to get rid of them? My wife is freaking out and don't want to go down in basement to do laundry .. we have a fully finished basement

    Thanks!

-below is pic of one this morning caught on glue trap

3" 00Buck should help get rid of them while providing pewpew entertainment

On a more serious note, HotShot makes bugbombs which can kill a variety of pests.

Ha! I totally have one of those! It was gifted to me from one of my best friends this past Christmas...I have at least 8 confirmed kills...my house rarely gets intruders.

    Many & varied
They get SO big! Their legs are long but their bodies are close to the ground. Have you tried Diatomaceous Earth ("DE"). It's pet and kid-safe and cheap. Can be found at most hardware/far/home supply stores.

They are common here. I put about 4 or 5 of those glue spider/cricket traps around my basement and they work pretty well. Dont really see them all around the basement any more. Just the crawl space and laundry room where the traps are. It is freaky that they usually jump toward you. lol

I have read online about them, just wondered if folks here had any experience with them and getting rid of them etc

    Thanks for the replies

They are harmless, but they obviously have an entry point and are finding food. Look around outside for any entry points, if you're in a brick home add some steel wool to the weep holes.

Luckily these don't make noise .. they are just nasty looking and freak my wife out if she goes down to basement and see's one. The glue traps have caught several
