That's a good idea, with the cardboard.

My method for the past few months is using this as it requires opening the enclosure only a small amount

    15918003552771641807241831580052.jpg

What's crazy about the webbing is, the webbing actually covers the inside walls entirely, on all four sides which he's never done before.

    20200610_074738.jpg

    20200610_074746.jpg

Remove the plastic enclosure, and he'll still have an enclosure completely made of web.

    A baby tarantula maybe?
It was at my work in locker room at the ranger station at Junipero Sera Co. Park. And limited recreation lol.

My pops taught me to shake out my boots in the garage each time before use. On the 27,352 time of doing so, after being out of the house for 15 years, I shook out a black widow. Thanks Pops!
Soon my son will be doing the same.

Damn, a whole year and a month.

Is this its last molt possibly? Or do you think it has a few more left?

Oh no it's got plenty of molts left. Current legspan is probably 2.5-3" and they can reach about 6-8". Some of the Brachypelmas (females of course) can live for 25-30 years though.

How much/how often does it get fed?
I would guess growth rate and feeding are correlated...
Anyway, so cool to be in on the action!

I like to feed my tarantulas smaller prey but more often since it means I get to watch more kills. But I'm a bloodthirsty bastard anyway. :D Usually feed them 1-2 times per week.
