Don't be surprised if his appetite goes down now as that's pretty common in mature males.

 

Yeah I found that out when I took those pics; its fangs are black as I waited a few days so it hardens up.

It didn't take the roach I dropped in.

I seriously hope it didn't fully mature but it's quite possible.

Got it on February 26 and he was only about 4". The shop said they had him a year give or take a few months?

 

Hard to tell with shops how old Ts really are. That's part of the reason I like getting spiderlings.

My LP don't like worms, picky little shit

 

From the past couple of nights theyre coming out to play

 

Couldn't get a good pic but was able to successfully tong-feed my 1-fanged Avic. for the second attempt in a row. By the way, tong-feeding is intense!

I haven't been able to get my LP to eat so the last 2 roaches I bought I gave to Mini Me.

He took them down so quick, considering they were bigger than him.

Didn't get a pic or video of the first one but here he is striking and threat posing the second one -



He's really fat now so I need to hold off feeding him for awhile.

 

Sounds like your male LP is one of the ones that refuses to eat once mature. I had a mature male Aphonopelma hentzi that still ate but it usually only went for smaller prey items ... so maybe try a roach about half the size that you would otherwise try to feed to it.

 

I failed to mention he took the medium cricket I tossed in after he refused everything else.

But yeah, sucks that he's now fully mature.

Now I just count down the days.

 

Could still be up to 2 years or so before he passes.
