Yeah, didn't realize there was something that made the black scorpion look........................second string. Camel Spiders fall in this category?

So, let's skip the Raid offer and just PM me your GPS coordinates. Duvall's "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" first thing that came to mind. Honestly, Boogie, is the shock factor the only appeal here?

I'm old, judgmental and unapologetic. I'm well past the early stage of thinking "Psych eval in aisle 11 please. Kreg, we need a psych eval in the arachnid department, stat!"

Would explain much if Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Alma Katiu, et al started out life this way.

Camel spiders CAN actually hurt you if they want. The tailless whipscorpion is completely harmless.

Hell, my very first post in this thread was of a camel spider.

I smashed that thing with my size 10 Salomon combat boot only for it to lift me up and flip me on back.

We sparred for a bit until we couldn't tap each other out and called it a truce for the moment. I tell you, spend enough time in the sand box and you're willing to fight anyone and everyone.

Anyway, it wasn't until we decided to hit the rack that I borrowed Sgt Sandovals silenced M4 (I had an M14 at the time), put the pillow over Mr Camel's face and unloaded 5 shots into it.

What surprised me most is, when I left my weight off the pillow to back away slowly at what I had just done, it dawned on me that the fucker was still alive! Barely moving and gasping for air, I pull the pillow aside.

He looked at me as he said under his dying breath "I'll see you in Hell"

Fun fact about camel spiders: they have the largest jaws compared to body size of any animal on the planet.

I thiiiiiiink I saw the Netflix special that had Camelspiders and yeah that was crazy to learn.

Vicious shits they are...they're also a bright neon looking color as slings. My buddy found a few, grabbed one and pretended he was going to eat it; we did after all bet him but he didn't take the bait. This was of course when were out there.

You know, I've been meaning to mention that but forgot.

I tried a few days ago; small roach as to not intimidate her, head crushed (to prevent burrowing or anything), caught in webbing.

It kicked around for a good day and a half, but she never took to it so I took it out and fed it to Mini Me.

I had done the same thing over a week ago with a small cricket (pic of the cricket was posted earlier, in webbing) and she left it alone as well.

I figured it was in premolt due to not wanting to eat, and it's hard to get prey directly to her due to the tunnels. Since it has yet to molt, I will try again in a few days...you know once a week just to try.

I took the time to read and saw that as long as a T has water available, they can go for months without eating. With that being said, one corner is soaked below the top layer of substrate, and I ensure the water dish is full.

Hopefully she'll eat next time I try otherwise I'm not too worried after what I've read.

So, I tried as I said I would, to feed Lady Gaga again.

Took a small dubia, struggled for 5 minutes to crush its head (held it at gun point), and dropped it in the main webbed entrance.

Left it alone for 8 hours and came back to see it still there.

Rather than leave it overnight without confirmation that she ate it, I took it out and fed it to Mini Me as shown above.

Haven't seen her for 2 days now so I just hope she's going through a molt or something. Unfortunately I can't see anything even through the burrow she dug since its webbed up :annoyed:

I've never had a T go into hiding like that but can imagine how frustrating it is.

@Pinay barely captures a glance at their foot if she's lucky; at least they grab their prey after awhile.

I do try to drop them at the entrance, often times coaxing the prey into the hidey hole and blocking the entrance. :angrygirl:
But I have at least two due for feeding that have nice “doors” that would be ideal to do a drop, and actual footage would be less than ideal :(
