So I’m in the process of putting on my winter wheels and tires, which gave me the opportunity to pull off my rear wheel/tires. The wheels are conical/acorn. The original front was damaged so much that it really altered how the wheel previously looked. But looking at both rears the wheels aren’t like OEM, and do take acorn/conical lugs.

But what I did find is the SpiderTrax bolts are shorter than the ones in the ECCPP spacers I took off. And looking at how the black lug nuts fit might be why the wheel worked itself loose. Like I said I torqued the wheels to spec, and got a total of about 13 turns or so. But from the photos you can see how far back it sits. I ordered extended conical/acorn lugs (silver in the photos) and you can see how much more of the bolt they can catch. So that’s the route I’ll use moving forward.

Some of this Some of that
Might be worth thinking about a set of scs wheels someday, they’re hub centric and have the correct thickness to work with factory wheel studs. And they look badass

Will do. I've only had the Tacoma just over two months. And while I'll make these wheels work for now, I defiantly plan to get a set I pick out in the future.

I received my Bora spacers faster than I thought, so I put them on today. But before I did, I noticed why I think the SpiderTrax didn't work for "me" in this particular case. As I said above, I was using the right lug nut style. But the threads on the SpiderTrax most likely didn't have enough length for the wheels and lugnuts I was using (somehow I had no issues for over a month, with highway driving, and hitting a few trails). I used a Digital Caliper and found the studs on the SpiderTrax were 23mm, the Bora's are 31mm, and the ECCPP's are 35mm. The last two offer a lot more thread to grab. I still plan to run SpiderTrax in the rear, I will just use the extended thread lug luts I recently purchased. Now I'm just waiting on some snow to try out my dedicated winter tire setup.

Also, make sure depending on the size of your spacer the studs are long enough. You may need to to get extended studs installed. If you only had a bit of thread they could have easily come loose or the previous owner did not regular check his spacers. They are known to lose and just need to make sure they are checked periodically.
