Ive had mine for 60k miles, many offroad trips, jumping, drifting, if you can name it i probably did it to them. I highly recommend them. I used the locktite they gave me and they have never even came close to loose.

Is the steering effort any different with spacers installed, since the scrub radius is larger?

I've had mine for 3 months. About 2k miles so far, on road, off road, rain, shine, mud, round town, highway - you get the idea...zero issues, great product.
You can not tell your even have them on - nothing changes from what I can tell. It's exactly like stock, only it looks way better.

True, as do wider wheels or lower offset wheels. Doesn't stop most people. I run spydertrax because I don't like most aftermarket wheels and the ones I do like are 3k+

I'll never use them again, back wheel came off going 70mph on I-40. This was after Toyota did brake job a few months earlier and i did not think to check them. Toyota over tourqed them and left rear snapped off. Peace of mind was never present when they were on.

It is better to spend money on correct offset wheels than to loose your life!

I've had mine on all summer. I have also taken them on a cross country road trip. I am about to haul a 7x12' enclosed tandem axle trailer 2600 miles early next week. No worries here.

Same here although I will admit they do give the Tacoma nice stance.

I never owned spidertrax, but I do have all-pro 1.25 inch hub centric on all 4 corners.

I put em on, loc-tite on every nut, drove 6 hours to WV and back to NC, took off my wheels, check the torque on every nut, they were still at 92ft/lbs

should I have done it like that? no. did it work out for me? yes.

I see no danger in them. off road, on road, highway. just as long as they're torqued down right they will be just fine

I had a wheel fall off due to bad lug nuts, had my truck towed to the dealership, and they replaced my ground up rotor, and ordered me all new lug nuts to replace the ones I have on every other wheel.

My wheel spacer is fucked, I plan on taking both off the rear and putting it up front (so I won't rub) and I'm gonna do this in the parking lot of my dealership when I go pick up my truck later today.

Who the hell do you take your truck to?

Normally I go to discount to buy tires and have them balanced and rotated. But they act as if my truck is radioactive now that I have the spacers on.

They way i look at it is it's just one more thing to go wrong. One little screw up by you or a service center and bad things can happen. It's Murphy's law dude, 24 lug nuts on your truck, 48 with spacers, just one needs to be torqued incorrectly, Spacers are known to fail, it's rare but it happens. Is your family's life potentially worth a cool look, not for me it isn't

This guy got stuck in a ditch, got pulled out, and then lost a wheel on the way home

The dealer used likely impact guns per normal practice. Spidertrax explicitly prohibits the use of impact guns on the spacer:

    https://system.netsuite.com/core/media/media.nl?id=15086&c=407909&h=1892abf14a992bd3ba16&_xt=.pdf

If you run wheel spacers, absolutely insist on lugnut tightening with hand tools, even if you have to pay extra.

The simple fact that this thread exists tells me you all have enough doubt in your heads to second guess yoour decision tells me its not safe. Two undeniable statements:

    1) not one spacer manufacturer or vendor will stand up and tell you spacers are okay to run on the highway or street. Infact they all CLEARLY state on their websites and on the info sheets they sent to you in the shipping box that they ARE NOT FOR HIGHWAY OR STREET USE.

    2) All it takes is one failure on the road and your choice to use something that is not safe for street use could kill someone. Your life will be forever different if you were to hurt much less kill someone for a part tbat saved you around $800 because you didn't want to buy new wheels but wanted to be cool and run big tires.

    Think about it. Be safe.

^ By the same logic you should never run an aftermarket bumper, beadlock wheels, long travel suspension, etc. on the street.

You think all the made-in-China wheels you get off the internet are DOT approved?

Use your own judgement. Some aftermarket parts require more maintenance and tolerate less abuse than OEM parts. It doesn't mean they are unsafe.

If someone has issues with Spidertrax wheel spacers, IMHO they didn't install them correctly. Whether it be lack of locktite or inadequate torque.

I had them on my truck for a while before I got new wheels and tires. I had zero issues. I wheel hard and put roughly 25k on my truck per year. We also got a set of knock offs for my grandpas F150 before we went hunting. He needed them to clear UCA in case chains were needed. He pulled a trailer almost 600 miles on that trip, on highway and off road. He too had zero issues!

Agreed fully. We are all responsible for oir own actions. Just beware all it takes is one accident and death and some family makes it its life work to have modified vehicles banned from the street. There is proposed legislation in Oregon right now that would ban lifted trucks because slmeones family member got killed by an accident with a lkfted truck. So in a sense yours and eberyone elses actions do not only affect me and you but all of us. The party could be over if we are not safe.

BTW...my wheels were purchased locally not online. But I bet thoae spacers were bought onljne.
