Finally got my Switch-Pros system installed!

I used the little cubby to mount my panel to, I never use this thing and figured if I wanted to move the panel later the little door would be cheaper to replace.

    Great build!

How do you like your James Baroud? Would you buy another one?

I think a hard shell fits my needs better but I'm trying to validate the extra cost of the hard shell (vs a CVT/Tepui).

    Thanks man!

Yeah I really love my James Baroud, and would buy a second is a heart beat. I think most are turned off by the price, but in the long run the ease of setup and take town combined with the comfort. I ran a CVT from over a year and yeah while it was plenty comfortable, I hated breaking it down, not to mention living in a very rainy state it was hard to find a place to open it up and let it dry out. I dont have the issue with the JB, the the Solar fan it has, it pulls all the moisture out of it.

Bought time I post a update!

I needed a set of drawers for my bed and I couldn't bring myself to spend so much money for a set when I could be a solid set for cheaper and exactly what I wanted!

I started with a a set of bars, this was all precut by the company I order my metal through. Its like putting a lego set together!

    Starting to take shape!

I reinforced the rear corners with 4 45° to help with any side to side movement, Drawers will be full most of the time, with my fridge mounted to the top.

    Complete Frame!

Test fitting my Whynter 62qt. Ended up being too tall once my slider goes under it. I cut all the vertical supports down 2in to leave space!

    End dimensions
    51in at the front
    41in at the back
    58in Overall.
    10in tall (minus covering)

Drawers will be 48in long using 500lb full extension slides to leave space behind them for other odds and ends. Like OBA, Water or Batteries.

More pics to come as I progress skinning the whole box and mounting drawers

I love extrusion. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Very nice build, love your truck!
Quick question regarding your RTT. I'm looking at potentially upgrading my Tepui to a hardshell similar to yours and would love to run it on my shell like you have yours. how has your shell stood up to the weight of the tent + occupants? I have a Leer and it seems to do fine with my Tepui. Only difference I would see is when the tent has people in it, all the weight is on the shell instead of some on shell and some on ladder on a conventional RTT.

    Thanks for the compliment!

So I never had an issue with my RTT on my canopy roof. The James Baroud weighs in at 135lbs and with myself and the gf, we top out close to 500lbs on the roof. It's never budged or felt unstable. Now I'm not sure how it would be long term, many people run RTTs on their canopies these days and the softshell tents weigh pretty close to a hardshell. I don't see you having a issue with the Tepui Hardshell, unless it weighs something crazy haha!

I ultimately upgraded to a Alucab Canopy that I will never have to worry about, being built like a tank!

This is bad ass! I was thinking about using the extrusion as well, but I haven't fully researched it yet. Hmmmm...my brain is spinning. I look forward to seeing your progress.
