Neat idea. Unfortunately for me, I live in the Northeast so unless its made of aluminum, it wont last a winter.

Yes, just a list of people who would be interested in buying these once they launch. They will look exactly like the Tundra models yet they'll fit a 2nd Gen Tacoma. No one is asking for your money yet just some people who'd like to receive an email saying they'll be bunched in with the group discount and will be one of the first to receive shipment. And the plates are 16gauge steel, no aluminum.

Didn't know this was gonna create such an issue. Just something new and different that's coming out. Sorry if some of you don't like em.

They attach with bolts in place of the factory plastic inserts.

Lets put a hard metal piece between a frame and a rubber mounted body. There is a reason why everything that goes from the body to frame has flex (look at all the brake lines and their spirals before they reach the frame) and is the reason why stock and aftermarket larger splash guards are rubber.

These will inevitably rip sheet the metal apart.

Lol people that don’t wheel are really annoyed with these.

If you have problems with the engine bay getting covered in dirt and packed with snow, these are a really good solution. And these trucks come factory with these things lol. If they’re useles and don’t serve a purpose, Toyota wouldn’t fit them from factory.

May as well ask "how is salt" and the answer be "banana"

Underhood temps are not consistent across the world, states, cities days, months, or speeds.
Question needs more substance, like what are u asking in regards to heat? Transfer/increases/damage? Then answer needs to correspond to questions parameters

The flex issue is not articulation. It is the fact that the body is mounted to the frame on rubber blocks. That means the body can flex on the frame. It also serves to isolate vibration. Having a solid connection with these shields will result in the shields cracking, and could increase transmitted noise. The simple fix is to mount these through large grommets. Nothing against the product, especially if bling is the thing, but rubber is hard to beat for this job.

Toyota does fit them from the factory but they are rubber to allow for movement between body and frame.

Yeah cool, the truck can be slowly flexed on a fork lift and not have issues, now put the truck through thousands of miles of roads with pot holes and off road vibrations i guarantee you will start ripping the original sheet metal that these are bolted to on the body side. Like stated there is a reason that the stock ones are rubber, there is a reason that EVERY SINGLE THING that goes from the body to the frame has the ability to extend / collapse / flex.

But hey you wanna rip apart the already rather fragile front clip of the tacoma to look cool, by all means go for it.

A lot of mods are done to look "cool" that aren't the best for a vehicle, if that's your issue. We've all seen the horror photos of spacer lifts but people still use/buy them. And chill tf out, y'all act like I made an designed these.

Good point. Not sure how much flex there is between the frame and body up front.
