I’m having some clutch/transmission issues and hoping some can provide incite or point me in the right direction. My truck is an 05 trd offroad with the 6spd manual that I have owned since new and currently have 115k on the odometer. I have noticed over the past 2-3 weeks that when shifting gears at times the stick feels spongy/mushy when going into gear. It is almost as if I am not actually engaging into the next gear. Additionally I have noticed what feels like a loss of acceleration or slipping at the higher end of the rpms (mostly above 3500). I am thinking these occurrences are pointing to a clutch issue. Is there an easier or cheaper solution than replacing the entire clutch? Is it possible this is a smaller issue that can be resolved without a total clutch replacement? I appreciate any help y’all can offer.

I can't let the wife know
I would replace it. I had that happen to me in another car. The pedal stopped feeling "right". 2 weeks later my throw out bearing blew up!. On my Tacoma I had some clutch slippage. I just replaced the whole thing. Wasn't to difficult to do. Took me about 8 hours.
