Big Mike has a big secret no one realizes.... Unless he body lifted his truck he doesn't actually have full travel on those tires. He's gimped his uptravel by at least 1.5". I know because he tubbed almost the exact same amount I did at the top of the wheel well for 37s on a 2+ kit. moving the tire forward makes the clearance at the front of the wheel well worse.

That's another thing I'm thinking, I might be severely underestimating how big the arc the tire needs to swing around with the extra size and width.

Edit: i just realized what you meant with that, I'm not worried about breaking, except for steering.

Ill probably end up getting a used set of 40s, I know I can get those to fit with full travel.

I don't think it's hiding anything, but I think generally when you say "size x" tire fits on a truck with bolt on parts, then "size x" tire should fit with full travel.

I bet I could throw on 40s on my truck as it is right now and drive around the street, but in order to offroad I would have to gimp the uptravel pretty bad. Personally I don't think a tire "fits" until you can use every bit of travel available on your suspension.

Fair enough. I definitely agree with tires fitting, I'm definitely interested in seeing you trying to fit 40s or 42s on IFS

I'd think tcases are a fair wager too.

Should be awesome with the 42's!

You should be worried about breaking literally everything on IFS with 40's or 42's.

With enough sawzall blades, you can get any tire to fit anything.

That is true, however I'd like to retain the function of my doors and be able to depress my brake pedal after filling the voids back in.

The difference is bigger than you think. I fit the 40s without rubbing. I might have to love my front axle forward and rear axle back to fit the 42s. Like, man these things are huge. Do you have the new tires yet?

No, there's a set of used 40s I'm looking to pick up in a week or 2 if they are still available

Damn straight, no point in running trails if you don't circle jerk about it on IG......

Actually, just don't even run trails, easier to get "sponsored" when a truck doesn't look like a piece of shit.

Yea you are going to need to figure out a way to push everything forward then. My dumbass put my axle centerline in the same spot as when I was IFS during my SAS, and I had to message the fender well so much to get 37s on there it messes with the clutch pedal a bit. Now way I could bigger. Good luck with the 42s LOL!!!

You could always chop up the brake pedal and move it away from the fire wall. Subbed for mall crawling to sema pics.
