No its not a roll bar. It just mounts to the bed rail with 3 bolts on either side.

Probably as much "roll protection" as a bed rack bolted to the rails, assuming your rails will stay on the composite bed in a roll over.

Lights that far back are pretty much for show only. They won't throw any usable light in-front of the truck due to the roof, not unless you mount them ~3 feet higher.

Then you'll get glare on the hood, especially with a skewp!

I rather have something my friends could hang on to while on the trails.

Roof lights can be a pain, but you can overcome hood glare if you know the light pattern and place them correctly. But that far back you're better off pointing them backwards and using them as reversing / bed lights.

Never mind. You put those spots on powered swivels and you could use 'em to facilitate some midnight monkey hunting.

It will make the DCSB bed look even smaller in proportion to the rest of the truck.

Kind of gimmicky. Not worth lowering down unless your state requires them to be covered. I also don't like that they sit behind the cab. The cab will limit the light and they look weird sitting so far back.

Chevy in Orange CA have them on the black Colorado's and they look clean on black. Not sure if I like them on the Tacomas.

I like this entirely much more than I should.

The funny thing is I actually like how it looks on the DCSB, because the N-Fab bar never looked right on the 3G DCSB trucks. I test fit mine and it just did absolutely nothing for me and I ended up selling it.

Didnt Marty McFly have a very similar set up on his truck in back to the future? Is there a relationship there, Mikey?? :D

Growing up watching The Fall Guy, I kinda like this look.

Saw this option with the Colorado when I was considering it and immediately realized how much useable light you will lose. I guess it would work fine for long throw light going waaaaay down the road, and then a light bar on the bumper and headlights to fill in for closer stuff.

Ya it was ok back in the 80's and 90's...tripple tube light bars with KC Daylighters all over them! The light was fine. No issues having a long distance spot style light that far back.

Click on my 2013 Tacoma member's ride link in my signature.

I had the long throws and they were perfect for being up that high.

I wish this wasn't $900, I'd strongly consider it. There's no way it would work with a tonneau though.
