Has anyone noticed the gap on the back of the scoop, just a slight line, looking from the drivers seat?

Checked other trucks at the dealer, all have it, it's the seam where the scoop is attached to the hood!

'Scoop' is a minsomer; it's not scooping anything except drag. "Hood obstruction" would be more accurate, or TW's affectionate "skewp".

Yes, and it's driving me crazy. It didn't used to be there and now it is. The scoop is pushed in and secure, but I can push it down with my hand and the line goes away, but when I let go it bends back upwards and there's a black line on it. I'll just add it to my 10k list.

Am I allowed to place the hood scoop on my 4cyl or will that overwhelm the engine? :notsure:

In the rest of the world there is often an inter cooler lying right under the scoop, making it fully functional.

The intercooler cools the air charge for the turbo diesel, backed by a manual trans.

Toyota is just teasing us with a non-functional remnant of the awesome powertrain combo that they will gladly sell to ISIS, just not the U.S.

    Well trolled 'yota, well trolled.

The scoop would increase your torque output so much it would destroy your differential, unless you balanced it out with enough TRD stickers on the back of the truck.

This discussion is starting to remind me of the BMW forums where people go apesh!t over ///M emblems on non-M cars.

what gets me is this is a taco fan-boy site, we love em, it's why we post
here so seeing all the hate is kinda baffling at times. Most of the 3rd Gen owners
here, myself included OWNED at least 1 Tacoma already. This is my 3rd one.

I'm sure there's many like that. Hell, I made post a couple months back about the
pathetic dealershit I dealt with and moments later a new account popped up talking
shit. :D Tried and tried to get things straight and the ONLY thing that got them to
correct things was posting a shitty review of them on Yelp!, 2 hours later the Owner
was messaging me, well, he said he was the owner.

That's exactly what I was questioning, but upon a closer look, it's just a line you can see where the scoop blends in with the hood. All's well now.

I'm on my fifth Toyota truck, not a skewp in the bunch.

No interest in rocking a fake bulge.

    Legend has it...
Bill Clinton was having sushi with the CEO of Toyota one day in Tokyo and Bill made Akio Toyoda a promise; if Toyota could sell more trucks to a terrorist group more than any other manufacturer, Bill would allow Akio's next Tacoma to STILL have a non functioning hood scoop.

Bill explained to Akio that it was way easier to sluuut scoop fat b!tches with a non functioning scoop. This would enable him to make the argument that the Tacoma's hood scoop could scoop ice cream and it would not fall through to the engines intake.
