    sorry if I offended anyone.

Reminds of a time when I lived in Pittsburg with an old full size two wheel drive truck. Hills everywhere. Got three quarters the way up and lost traction. Started sliding backwards down the hill. Took all I could do to get it to 180 so I could at least see when I was gonna die. Talk about butt puckering times. The good ole days!

I’m jealous of your snow totals. It’s been a mostly dry winter here in Minnesota. I can still drive overland with only minimal risk of getting stuck.

Seeing as how 04 was 16 years ago, maybe you can't drive real good anymore....

Weight in the bed!!! If you're tires are half decent, you'll be OK in MOST situations.

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
I have been somewhat surprised at how well the stock Toyo's have worked in the snow. I'm guessing it's because they are fairly soft and have decent siping.
Here in SE Wisco the last few storms have dropped packy snow that the snow in the sipes can stick to on fresh unplowed roads. Once the salt trucks are out and everything turns to mush that's where the Toyo's struggle.

Having said that I agree that a dedicated snow tire will out perform any all season.

I fully agree first ride home from work today in heavy snow here in northern NJ and couldn’t be happier with the way the truck performed on stock tires. Just like most I was already thinking about my next set of tires but after today I’m not sure if I’m gonna make a change.

It’s all about the tires. You can get good all terrain tires for your truck, or trade your truck.

    Your choice.

    Choose wisely

    All-factory options at this point.
Any 4x4 in good running shape can handle snow on the road with a wide range of tires. Obviously better performance with snow treads. But if we start talking about ICE on the road, or ICE under snow, all bets are off--even great tires aren't much help. Heavy weight (sandbags) and SLOW driving are the only way to keep it out of the ditch.

Why not we have over 19 feet already up on the mtn! We got 63inches last storm you guys and your silly pictures where you can still see the brush poking through the snow and maybe have 4 inches on the ground are a joke!

Tacomas suck in snow, they need winter tires in cold climate areas.

This would explain why a lotta Colorado bois have a 64” lift.

Just took my 2WD sport to the snow last weekend for the first time (I usually ride with my buddies who have 4x4) I was super nervous but I loaded up the back with sand bags and I have decent tires so I ended up being very impressed, didn’t slip once.

The weight in the back made all the difference!

Ya. I think allot of these people would end up in the ditch on the 10 on a good black ice day.
