This is all good info. I’ve heard good and bad from all these manufacturers and I do all my work myself. The long slippery/loose slopes are what kill me. Otherwise she’s a beast. winch is in the future too. Probably before lockers and gears but I like to plan ahead.

If the bonded seal is improperly installed then it's ARB that improperly installed it.

FRS limited slip can be installed up front. There is a thread on that, here on the forum.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I'm familiar with how arb air lockers are constructed and work..... seeing as how I have a chronically leaking rear and have destroyed a front air locker.

And I decided to look around for others that have had issues, in the group of people I wheel with I know of at least 3 that have had bonded seal issues. Here's a link to a bunch of other people having the same exact issues.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/brand-new-arb-locker-leaking-air.565186/

    I'll say it again....
Fuck air lockers, they aren't worth the bullshit that inevitably comes with them.

I destroyed my front air locker/carrier assembly last month. I'm replacing it with a harrop/eaton, the disengaging while going in reverse on the front would actually be useful in a lot of cases. When I replace my rear Rockjock axle I'll get an Eaton locker back there. Eaton has a newer generation of lockers for some axles that doesn't disengage in reverse so its a non issue.

I haven't updated that build thread in forever, just post on IG a couple times after a trip.

A Detroit locker will be noisy ... ratcheting and clicking sounds heard on cornering and on / off the throttle , But it is 100% streetable

@Creamyreamy , did you end up getting a locker? I got an Eaton e locker in the rear and it's awesome. 4 low ia good but that rear locker can take you to more places.

I am eyeing the Lokka from Australia for a front locker. Been awhile since I looked at their products. I don't see much of them mentioned here; thought I'd throw them a plug.

These look really cool and affordable! Looks like it's an "automatic" locker, no running wires/air lines

In the utube videos, the drawback appears to be a clicking noise when turning - normal they say. But, still waiting on a step-by-step video for the 2nd gen Taco's. I'm too chicken-shit to attempt without one.

Yup, some reviews say the steering is hard to turn after engaging 4WD (turning a 3 point turn into a 5 or 6 point). The website is encouraging:
I'll shoot them an email and see if they can send an install PDF, I'm curious about how difficult it is to install.

I need the visual video. I can't put together a model car with written directions.
