I live in New England and see plenty of snow, but I still know that standard 4WD is all I'll ever need because I'll never do any serious off roading. So..

1st Tacoma was an SR5 to save money, and it looked damn sweet when I was done with it
2nd Tacoma was a Sport for the looks.
3rd Tacoma was a Sport for the looks.
4th Tacoma is an Off Road....for the looks. The new Off Road with black fenders looks amazing, PLUS, for the first time I won't have to upgrade the wheels because I love the stock OR wheels (and hate the new Sport wheels), and for the first time I won't have to upgrade the tires right away, because the stock OR tires are not bad and 'kind of' aggressive looking, at least compared to the embarrassingly street car look of the Sport tires....but I might do the tires anyway.

+1 The stock OR tires are at least capable in the snow. I plan on running them till they are at least somewhat worn in then replace them with something even more aggressive, but they are totally adequate for snow on paved roads, which is all I need at the moment.

During my Tacoma's 2 month time out due to the rear diff issue, I was able to drive the Sport for a full month, and the Off-Road for a full month (both were 4x4) and I lived the TRD-Off Road. The ride was just better, on and off road. I even liked the stock suspension over the sport.....dead serious. Both vehicles had a few thousand miles on them and the sport would "g" out on some rr crossings in the area in the front of the truck. It sounded bad and hit hard. The HD Radio was nice and all in the sport but the stuff inside was all fluff to me. And I drive an SR for comparison which I am completely ok with, but if I had the choice the Sport would not be on the list.

They really need to just get rid of the sport and throw the scoop on the off road then beef up the Pro.

If I were actually going off-roading I would not want the scoop. I went off road with both as I do not have a 4x4 and wanted to have some fun. The sport pissed me off a few times because of the damn scoop, couldn't see. It should be an option in my opinion. The lack of storage in this car did have me missing my sunglasses holder in the sport and SR I should add.
