I've owned so many damn sports cars.. if I haven't owned it i've driven it. I did love my Supra to death but honestly the power was lacking... even the turbo Supra. They can put out some impressive dyno numbers but... yea.. It is sexy as hell though!!!

Mustang - fast but unless you keep high dollar tires on it you just spin.. which can be fun but annoying.

Z line - not all that impressed for the money. I thought they felt a little cheap all around? Not all that much HP to boot...

I'm FOR SURE keeping my eye on the Subaru/Toyota they are coming out with!! I have very high hopes for that car and hope to make one mine in 2013!

But hands down... Subaru STi. Yes it is "practical" for a sports car but it so rocked!! AMAZING power just by adding a 3" turbo back exhaust, intake, and remap. Granted the Cobb stock map blows as far as leaving a black mess on the bumper.. but great power adder for not much money! Then the mods from there on out just make it even more impressive. Thing is you can make some CRAZY damn power and use it all. Handling is amazing as well! (Look at me.. went from a STi to the tacoma and lost the tacoma in a turn not long after owning it.... DOH!) AND to top it all off they are very very reliable. Mine was a salvage rebuild and I NEVER had any major issues from it! I mean right after the remap it went into limp mode a time or two just randomly.. but it fixed itself? I put a lot of miles on that thing and loved every bit of it! If it wasn't for my career choice and the fact I kept needing a freakin' truck I'd still have it. Maybe i'll get another on down the road..

Wait....did you just say that a Supra, capable of 800whp on stock internals, didn't have enough hp potential for you?

have you seen 800whp go down the track? I ...almost.. saw a 1000hp supra do so but they kept snapping axles and other things.
All the supras I watched at the track in GA when I went to the supra meet... in my supra... did AMAZING numbers on the dyno! That was awesome! BUT when we all got to the track they didn't do well at all.

So many people focus on HP and completely overlook chassis tuning. The guy who built my truck does a lot of chassis tuning for 1/4 mile drag cars and it's amazing to see what a little geometry can do for a vehicle's performance.

It's not a one-size-fits-all deal either. A car chassis-tuned for 1000 HP will do very bad things if the owner bumps up to 1400 HP without changing anything else.

Leo Barnaby's (RIP) 2400 HP Corvette came out of the same shop:

I'm thinking of trading in the Tacoma for a 2010 40th anniversary 370z. We like the cars better.

    I say 370Z, but I'm a little biased :D
It sure does turn heads, but they are popping up a little more frequently now. I'm actually debating on selling mine

I had a 240 for my first car and had 90% of the parts to do KA-T (it's the KA24DE not ka20) and then a drunk driver totaled it while it was parked. In the end I went another direction since it was so hard to find a clean chassis. If you could find one, I'd say go for it. I liked everything about mine. There are lots of parts to mod them, which is nice.

KA can make around 300whp from a bigger turbo somewhat reliably. After that you have to build the internals. It has some grunt, not a high-revving motor by any means.

^My dad has one of those. It's a nice drive but I don't think I've ever lusted after it. I think that considering it hasn't changed (visually) hardly at all since I was in elementary school it just doesn't pique my interest. Great steering feel on those things; it's point and click.

This tread is full of win

I'd definitely have to go with a STI. Those are sick.

No because it's hard to make better something that great. They sure did do a great job with the 2012 Carrera S.

i would say what i like best. looks as well other stuff. is STI fore sure. but EVO x know some that just gat his back after getting run off the road. got back allot more money then he should have. lowered like 2” i think. new inter cooler. new wheels full new exhaust. and i think new turbo. i’ll see if i can get a short video of it some time. i think i about cam when i heard it the other day.

i think i will get me a car in a year or 2. i’ll keep my truck tho.

Oh I agree that 911's are awesome cars in general, but it wouldn't kill them to maybe change up the looks a bit. The fact that it hasn't changed really at all in about 30 years says lazy in my mind.

Yes please, but we'd need the xi around here. I'll sacrifice a fraction of a second for AWD. Then a road trip to Dinan...
