Going to be adding some more lighting to my truck to get some more illumination to supplement my headlights and fog lights, the fogs are a nice wide beam pattern, so now I'm also looking for more reach.

Looking at installing some a-pillar lights. After Emailing with them, I have pretty much narrowed it down to Baja Designs S1 in spot or their Squadron Sport in either spot or combo. Just not sure which pattern to go with. any insights to help me figure this out?

It really depends on your real-world use.

I do a lot of driving on hilly curvy back roads with lots of deer. I went with a combo pattern, and even have them pointed out a bit instead of straight forward, using them more as ditch lights. They are tied to my high beams. This gives me enough light to see around corners and see deer before they jump out in front of me.

In my scenario, wide is more important than long

I’ll probably add a 30” bar in the grill next, it a spot pattern. This will get me a lot of distance to pair with the width I have now

Thanks for the good info. Mainly they are for off road to get some distance. a secondary consideration though, is getting more visibility watching for deer. I'm fully aware that there isn't a single optimal solution, so this is the first step more than likely.

pic is just the ditch lights no other lights are on

I run BD Squadron Pros straight ahead with Spot lenses. They work great and reach well without too much hood flare.

Thanks for the input all. I ended up getting BD S1 lights in Spot pattern. I got Caliraised low profile ditch light mounts for them, but now I'm considering getting mounts that are just a little taller. I need to get them aimed properly, but so far they seem pretty good. I'll try to get a picture of how they illuminate later today.
