I just want to know why they are selling it after putting so much work and money into it. Something doesn't smell right about it... folks who put that much time and money into a truck do it for the long haul b/c you never get that coin back on resale...

But, there are those who have tons of free time and money to play with. So perhaps this is just a project that's hit its end and the owner is looking to the next project. !?:hattip:

Or, they hang around TW too much and see what everyone else has, thinks it's cool, so they buy the same thing only to realize they use it only 1-2 times a year

Valid points, though I disagree on the tent issue. I guess what I was getting at, is to figure out what you want, like, Love, or need, over a reasonable amount of time. Don’t build it blind.

    Anyways......sorry OP: :threadjacked:

I'm that guy, always used a shitty $40 big5 tent and a used 20 degree sleeping bag I bummed from a friend back in college. I've slept in 10 degree weather with that POS (extra liners and clothing for me of course but still froze my ass off).

I have to say, after camping with a buddy of mine a couple weeks ago who has an RTT and extra $600 down sleeping bag.... I'm now fucking spoiled and immediately started shopping for an RTT of my own (hopefully buying one off another member in the next couple weeks). Maybe I'm just getting older and less adventurous but man setting up camp in 2 minutes flat while being super warm all night was the shit!! No going back now :)

I'll still have to "rough it" when backpacking but for truck camping you can go ahead and call me Martha!! I'll be nice and cozy with my artesian organic coffee maker :)

LOL this is so true. Right after I first got into offroading (back in 2005) I took a trip to Bolivia and we were up in this small ass town outside of santa cruz going up to an old tin mine. At the time I had just bought my own 4runner and THOUGHT I had done some crazy shit it in back in the deserts of SoCal.... so we get to this INSANE looking rocky trail, when I looked at it I thought for sure we were hiking from here as there was no way even my 4x4 4runner with a rear locker would make it up that.... fucker glides right up it in some 1980s 2wd pickup with 250k miles.... made me realize I was actually a complete pussy.

The Maxtrax must have obstructed his side view mirror and he merged into somebody.

$33k? Man, that's out of my price range. Nice treads though.

I have seen the expedition overland series, it’s great. It’s well done, and I like the people. But  at the water purification system that could provide for all of Mogadishu and the trailer full of stuff. And the apt on top to the bed.

It's entertaining if nothing else and very well done, technically. Seems to get better each season in that regard.

thee only thing really challenging about most of the XO trips is how long they go for. But otherwise nothing really that special. Mackenzie trail was a bit tough in some spots but not much besides the fuel aspect.

I barely watched the new series as I can't stand Clay or his voice lol.

But seriously I've been through way tougher shit than they do.

I can't stand those stupid tents. What is this the Swiss Family Robinson, you need to sleep in a treehouse? Pretend you want to be outside and sleep on the ground....

Plus nearly all of my camping is related to fishing, so I might set up base camp on a river somewhere and drive up river to launch the boat every day I'm there. So not being able to move the truck without taking down camp would be useless for me. To each his own...

Yeah man could you imagine a turtle building a second shell on top of its main shell? Geeze. I love sleeping in the bed. No matter how messy I make my room, I can just step out and drive away. Set up and tear down don’t actually exist. But if I want, I can set up a base camp and then... drive away. That’s cool. Love that shit.

Truck with a roof rack screams "should have bought a hammock". Too many doodads for my taste.

I’m guessing you have never camped in Washington State? I have many times and really can’t think of how many times it was dry and didn’t rain, so yeah, an awning makes sense for some people.
