A lot of times when I crank up to go some place Spotify automatically starts
playing tunes. I often don't want to hear tunes at all. How can I turn that sh*t
off so it doesn't play unless I tell it to? Thinking some place Auto-Play can be turned off.?

When the radio turns on, either click the off button or switch to audio source to give you a option for whatever you want.
I think it remember the last source you used..

In my 2020 if I press the power button (volume knob) and it says "Audio Off" on the screen, it will still be off the next time I start my truck.

    Ok will try these...

Today I hopped in drove to Wally World it didn't turn on.
After I hopped back in the damn thing suddenly and without explanation turned on.

Very annoying - seems like some option for 'auto-play' would be available on either the app or the head unit.

    If Android:
    1. Go into Apps
    2. Android Auto
    3. Configure in Android Auto
    4. Find the "Start music automatically" option
    5. Turn off
Spotify may also have a specific setting.

I think CarPlay does it automatically. It is the absolute most worthless stupid feature. And you can't turn it off. There's thousands of people who ask the question and I've never found an answer that works.

I cannot figure out what complete jqckoff thinks that the default setting should be to immediately resume playing the moment the phone gets into the car. And to not be able to turn it off? The hell is wrong with Apple?

CarPlay is trash. My daughter insisted I turn it on because I would love it. I hate it and can't get rid of it. Regardless of setting to 'forget this car' every
time I plug in to charge up it comes on.

@Smacky2020 : Family insisted I lose my Android phone and go Apple because it's so good. One of the biggest mistakes
I ever made, I can't stand anything Apple.... it's rotten to the core.!

You can turn CarPlay Off in the headunit settings and not have to deal with it ever again.

I've got both; my work phone is an iPhone and I always hate using it. I guess it's like owning a Tacoma. You either love it or hate it.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I tried both and found Apple CarPlay to work better. My Android Auto will randomly disconnect once the cable gets 3-4 months old then I have to rinse and repeat buying a new cable. I tried a wireless dongle and it will disconnect at certain areas due to signal interference, which became annoying to deal with

So far, I haven’t ran into that issue with Apple CarPlay and I’ve been using it for a year. It only glitched out 3 times but it’s nothing an easy “press the menu button then go back to Apple CarPlay” can’t fix
